Spring and Summer Getaways

Did you enjoy one of our road trips we suggested last magazine? There are so many great attractions to choose from around Sydney that one article wouldn’t do them justice!

We have three more great destinations for your next weekend adventure.

The Hunter Valley

2h from Sydney

Now is a great time to visit the Hunter Valley. You can discover over 100 vineyards, as well as gourmet produce such as cheese, chocolate, and truffles!

If you don’t have a designated driver with you for all the wine tastings you’ll be at during the day, no problem! Simply join a guided trip. You can travel in style with a horse drawn carriage or hot air balloon.

Kids can have fun in the Hunter too as there are plenty of museums all about grapes and winemaking and they might even be able to pick some grapes.

Brisbane Water National Park

Less than 2h from Sydney

This national park is a hidden treasure trove of beautiful bushland, coastal cliffs and beaches.

Although it’s right next to the third biggest city in the state, you will feel as though you’re a world away.

Whether it’s the Wondabyne sculptures in Mt Penang Gardens, Aboriginal rock engravings at Bulgandry, or the Gosford hieroglyphs, there is no shortage of things to discover on your way through the park. At Somersby Falls you can enjoy a picnic beside a picturesque waterfall.

Berry

2.5h from Sydney

This friendly, historic town is another great place to relax.

It’s one of the oldest towns in the area and retains a charming atmosphere from those early days.

You can spend your day browsing shops full of crafts and collectibles, taking in the mountain scenery from horseback, or indulging in hearty local specialties from The Famous Berry Donut Van and the Treat Factory.
